Bush Craft

All the girls went off to their activities with a full tummy and lots of enthusiasm.

The group I was with went bush crafting. We walked to a beautiful spot where apparently red squirrels can often be spotted. We walked along a stream and spotted a beautiful waterfall.

The girls were given the task of finding logs to create a shelter, they worked together to collect them and with the help of Faye and Andy they draped a sheet over it, which they then pegged in to the ground. Faye showed the girls how to light a fire using kindling, cotton wool and a fire starter. The girls were very excited to build and light their own. Pip proved to be quite an expert and Kate's determination was admirable.

The girls also got the opportunity to make bread rolls and toast them over an open fire, the results were erm... Interesting!

The girls, Mr Roberts and I had a brilliant afternoon!
